About Chamber

World over the Chamber of Commerce have been recognized as the main institution for creating synergy between the industry, trade, professionals and the Government. They support the various policy initiatives of the Government and give momentum for new business, economic growth and assist in the National building.

Mewar Chamber of Commerce & Industry was incorporated in 1966, by Shri L.N.Jhunjhunwala, Shri S.M.Lodha, Shri S.P.Nathany, and Shri S.K.Mansinghka. The Chamber has an illustrious list of doyens of trade and industry who lead it to be the one of the most active chamber of commerce in India. It was officially inaugurated as the Divisional Chamber on 11th September 1969 by the Late Chief Minister Shri Mohan Lal Sukhadia. The Mewar Chamber Bhawan was also inaugurated on 24 December 1997 by Mr. Kanti Kumar R. Poddar then President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

It has been functioning as representative body of the industries in the state, leading the cause of the Textile, Cement, Zinc, Steel ,and Mining industry and making constructive suggestions to the Central and State Government and other agencies in regards to formation of industrial Policy, Taxation Matter and other operational activities.

Mewar Chamber of Commerce & Industry is affiliated with many International & National apex organization. It is a member of International Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Confederation of Indian Industry, Indian Council of Arbitration, Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Employers Association of Rajasthan. It has representations in various National and State level committees. Having a long history of representations in DRUCC, ZRUCC & NRUCC of Railways, it is also a well-recognized organization in this field.

Mewar Chamber of Commerce & Industry celebrated its’ Golden Jubilee function on 26th August 2016. A spectacular gala "Golden Jubilee Event" was organized on 27th August 2016 at Rajeev Gandhi Auditorium Bhilwara. Smt Smriti Irani, Hon'ble Union Minister of Textile, Government of India was the Chief Guest while Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for Finance, Government of India and Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar, Minister of Industries, Government of Rajasthan were guest of honour. Other luminaries included Shri Kalu Lal Gurjar, then Chief Whip of Rajasthan Assembly, Shri Subhash Baheria, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Bhilwara, Shri V.S.Awasthi, Member of Legislative Assembly, Rajasthan, Dr Teena Kumar, District Collector of Bhilwara and Shri Pradeep Mohan Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Bhilwara.

Over the last 52 years, Mewar Chamber of Commerce & Industry had played a pivotal role in the industrial and economic development of Rajasthan. We have been working to create and sustain an environment conducive to the growth of industry and trade in Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Banswara, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Rajasmand & Udaipur districts of South Rajasthan and have the recognition of the Divisional Chamber. Southern Rajasthan is the main industrial hub-having large number of Cement, Textiles & Mining industries and almost entire textile industry of the State is concentrated in this region. MCCI represent all spectrum of textile industry; it is also well-known as one of the main textile industry organization of the Country.

A number of Central Cabinet and State Ministers, Chief Ministers of State, Cabinet and State Ministers of State have since participated in the various programme and activities of the Chamber. Hon'ble Shri Pranab Mukherjee (Former, Hon'ble President of India), Late Shri Shiv Charan Mathur, then Hon'ble Governor of Assam, Shri V.P.Singh, Hon'ble Governor of Punjab also honoured our Chamber by their visit. Due to our important role in the development of textile industry, Shri Kashiram Rana, Shri Shankar Singh Vaghela, Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, then Union Minister of Textiles, Government of India visited our Chamber. Smt. Smriti Irani, Union Minister of Textile also visited in our Golden Jubilee function. Further, Shri Subodh Kumar, Shri A.B.Joshi, then Textile Commissioner of India and Dr Kavita Gupta, Textile Commissioner of India also visited at our chamber.

We also had the privilege to host the Shri Santosh Bagrodia, then Union Minister of Coal, Dr C.P.Joshi, then Union Minister of Railway, Road and Transport and Gramin Vikas, Shri R.P.Rudy, then Union Minister of Skill Development, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for Finance, Sadhvi Niranjana Jyoti then Union Minister of State for Food Processing. To promote export and international trade, we have signed MOU with Indo Polish Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Poland and Milan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Italy.

Mewar Chamber has expert committees which devote their attention and co-ordinate activities in their areas of expertise. These committees also plan and implement exclusive events in their select spheres. It also extends its expertise, experience and feedback at numerous platforms, committees, councils, commissions and other bodies to facilitate business processes.

We are not oblivious of our social obligations. We have undertaken and implemented massive relief work projects for masses affected by natural calamities.
