Bhilwara-Bird Eye View


Bhilwara has developed as one of the largest textile center in Rajasthan State, producing cotton yarn, polyster/viscose blended yarn & fabrics, denim & other textile products.

It has highest spinning capacity in the State of Rajasthan. Out of about 18.66 lacs spindles capacity in the State, about 9.45 lacs spindles, (50.65 %) are installed in Bhilwara District. Produces approx. 2.80 lacs tonnes of PV and cotton yarn p.a. 

Bhilwara is fully modernized weaving hub having about 17,000 looms. It is the largest P/V blended suiting manufacturing hub in the World. Total turnover of textile trade is around 170 billion. Bhilwara is also emerging as major manufacturing center for Denim Fabrics. It is already producing about 15 crore meters of Denim fabrics p.a. and more looms for the purpose are being installed. It will emerge as the second largest denim manufacturing hub after Ahmedabad.

The total exports from the District are of approx. Rs 9500 crore p.a., including textiles, minerals and other products. 

Bhilwara has been granted Status of Town of Export Excellence by the Ministry of Commerce, Govt of India.

Apart from the textile industry Hindustan Zinc Limited of Vedanta Group is the largest producer of lead, zinc and silver in the Country. It's mines at Rampura Agucha in Bhilwara District is known to be the largest Mine of lead and zinc in the World, producing 7.5 million tonne of ore p.a.

The District is the major producer of sand stone which is exported to many European Countries.

Our member cement plants in South Rajasthan have capacity of about 29 million tonnes cement production p.a. which is about 41% of state's cement production capacity.

The state is the main producer of Marble in the Country, producing about 90% marble of the Country. Chittorgarh, Rajasmand, Udaipur districts have more than 1,500 marble processing units.
